Rep. Wesley Hunt, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas's 38th District since 2023, recently expressed his views on government spending and accountability through a series of tweets. These posts highlight his concerns regarding the allocation of taxpayer dollars and the priorities of the current administration.

On February 5, 2025, Rep. Hunt criticized government spending on foreign aid programs, particularly those related to "Sex Change Operations and Sesame Street in Iraq," while emphasizing that citizens in states like California and North Carolina are suffering. He stated, "MILLIONS OF YOUR WASTED for Sex Change Operations and Sesame Street in Iraq."

Later that day, he referenced Karoline Leavitt's explanation about DOGE (Department of Government Expenditure) reviewing financial records to ensure taxpayer money benefits Americans directly. He posed a question to his followers: "Do you want your money subsidizing the media?"

On February 6, 2025, Rep. Hunt noted that even Jill Biden’s spokesperson had commented on Democrats' reactions to efforts aimed at curbing government fraud and waste. He emphasized President Biden's commitment to addressing these issues by stating: "@POTUS was given a mandate by the American people and NOW he is getting it done."
