Wesley Hunt, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas's 38th District since 2023, shared several tweets on January 31, 2025, through his press office. The tweets addressed issues concerning New York City residents' reactions to migrant shelters, President Trump's trade policies, and media coverage of COVID-19 origins.

In a tweet posted at 17:19 UTC, Hunt highlighted the dissatisfaction among New York City residents regarding the opening of another migrant shelter housing 2,000 men scheduled for the following month. " New York City residents are FURIOUS. Another Migrant shelter, housing 2,000 Men, is still set to open NEXT MONTH!"

At 18:41 UTC, Hunt tweeted about former President Trump's intention to impose tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada as part of efforts to curb fentanyl distribution in America. "President Trump will follow through on his plans to impose tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada. Americans will NO longer be a dumping ground for deadly fentanyl. Promises made, promises kept."

Later that day at 18:55 UTC, Hunt criticized mainstream media (MSM) for their previous skepticism towards claims about COVID-19's origins. He referenced confirmation from CIA Director John Ratcliffe supporting former President Trump's assertion that the virus originated from a Chinese lab. "MSM EXPOSED! They Mocked Trump on COVID’s Origins—But He Was RIGHT… AGAIN! The press ridiculed POTUS for saying COVID-19 came from a Chinese lab. Now, CIA Director John Ratcliffe CONFIRMS it—proving once again that the so-called “conspiracy theories” were actually the TRUTH all…"
