Rep. Sylvia Garcia shares her perspectives and actions through a series of tweets, addressing significant national concerns and community engagement. Currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’s 29th district since 2019, Garcia engages with both national issues and local community events.

On April 14, 2025, Rep. Sylvia Garcia criticized the Trump Administration for allegedly ignoring a unanimous Supreme Court decision mandating the facilitation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s return home. Garcia accused former President Trump of evading responsibilities by collaborating with the Salvadoran president and openly mocking the U.S. judicial system.

Later that day, Garcia shared another tweet alleging that Trump is defying the Supreme Court while threatening to target U.S. citizens. She characterized these actions as consistent with "the playbook of a dictator" and urged Americans to actively oppose such measures as a collective voice.

Shifting to community matters, on April 15, 2025, Garcia expressed her pleasure in attending the Denver Harbor Cares About Education event. She celebrated the importance of local leaders and community members coming together to support education and neighborhood development, emphasizing the collective effort needed for a better future.

Sylvia Garcia, 72, was born in San Diego, Texas in 1950, and she currently resides in Houston. She holds a BA from Texas Woman's University and a JD from Texas Southern University. Her previous service in the Texas Senate from 2013 to 2018 laid the foundation for her current congressional role.
