On August 2, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) announced the launch of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) for Texas’ Seventh Congressional District.  The competition, which is open to middle school and high school students, encourages students to learn to code and inspires them to pursue careers in computer science.

“As new technologies emerge at record speeds, apps have become a part of our everyday lives,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher.  “I am excited to launch this year’s Congressional App Challenge for students across our district and to provide them with an opportunity to demonstrate and develop their STEM skills.  I look forward to seeing the submissions from our talented young neighbors.”

The CAC is open to middle school and high school students in Texas’ Seventh Congressional District.  The deadline to submit an app is November 1, 2023.  The winner for Texas’ Seventh Congressional District will be selected by a panel of expert judges from the district.  The app will be eligible to be on display in the U.S. Capitol, alongside other winners from across the country.  For more information about the competition, click here.
