On March 24, 2025, Rep. Lizzie Fletcher called on President Trump to recommit funding to USAID's efforts in combating drug-resistant tuberculosis. She emphasized the global nature of viral threats by stating: "This World Tuberculosis Day, President Trump needs to recommit U.S. funding for USAID's critical work to stop the spread of drug-resistant TB. Viruses don't recognize borders, as we know from recent experience."
Later that day, she criticized the Trump Administration's proposed cuts to NOAA’s weather response services alongside Rep. Wesley Bell from Missouri. She asserted: "Hurricanes don't care who is in the White House. I joined @RepWesleyBellMO in a letter to the Trump Administration explaining why its effort to slash life-saving weather response services at NOAA is dumb and dangerous."
