Rep. Sylvia Garcia, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Texas’ 29th district, has expressed her views on national security, women's rights, and local sports in a series of recent social media posts.

On March 26, Rep. Garcia criticized fellow politician Mike Waltz for mishandling classified information. She stated, "Wishing our service members godspeed means nothing if you aren’t doing everything you can to protect them. Mike Waltz was careless with classified information—putting our men and women in uniform in harms way. This is no way to handle our country’s national security."

The following day, March 27, she turned her attention to the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), noting her long-standing advocacy for women's rights. She shared, "Nearly 50 years ago, as a law student in Houston, I fought for the Equal Rights Amendment. This week, my colleagues and I filed a resolution to finally make it law because women’s rights don’t have a deadline. It's time to make the ERA the law of the land."

Later that same day, Rep. Garcia shared her enthusiasm for the city of Houston's sports scene, specifically the commencement of the baseball season. She said, "Happy Opening Day! Excited to be back at the new #DaikinPark soon cheering on our Houston @Astros—let’s start this season strong! #BuiltForThis."
