Rep. Sylvia Garcia, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 29th district, recently shared her thoughts on various topics through social media posts. Garcia, who succeeded Gene Green in 2019 and previously served in the Texas Senate from 2013 to 2018, expressed her sentiments on issues ranging from personal loss to political support.

On March 5, 2025, Rep. Garcia conveyed her sorrow over the death of Congressman Sylvester Turner. In her post, she wrote: "I am devastated to hear of the passing of my dear friend and colleague, Congressman Sylvester Turner. He was a trailblazer, a dedicated public servant, and a true champion for the people of Houston." She highlighted Turner's roots in Houston's Acres Home neighborhood.

The following day, March 6, 2025, Garcia addressed political controversies involving fellow congress members. She tweeted: "I stand with my friend and colleague, a true American patriot @RepEspaillat against the NRCC's cochinada." She urged Speaker Johnson and the GOP Conference to denounce what she termed as an attack or face censure.

Later that same day, Rep. Garcia reaffirmed her commitment to free speech rights by supporting another colleague. Her tweet read: "I will always stand for the right to free speech, especially when it comes to my friend @RepAlGreen."
