She remarked, "On his first day in office, President Trump betrayed the police officers who put their lives on the line to protect the peaceful transfer of power—the very thing we witnessed earlier that same day. These pardons are an affront."
Later that day, she turned her attention to women's rights in Texas. In a series of tweets marking the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, she highlighted concerns about Texas' restrictive abortion laws. She stated, "I am thinking today of the brave Texas women who have shared their stories about the devastating impacts of Texas’ cruel abortion ban on their health and their freedom, and of the women who can no longer tell their stories because they died as a result of Texas’ cruel laws."
