Rep. Sylvia Garcia, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 29th district, has recently shared her views on various national policies through a series of tweets. These posts reflect her stance on issues such as tariffs, manufacturing deals, and proposed Medicaid cuts.

On March 5, 2025, Rep. Garcia expressed concerns about the impact of tariffs imposed by former President Trump on small businesses. She stated that "Small businesses rely on affordable imports to survive. Trump’s tariffs mean they’ll pay more, hire less, and struggle to stay open." She highlighted that with one-third of Texas' GDP tied to trade, these tariffs could harm rather than help communities.

In another tweet posted shortly after, Rep. Garcia credited Joe Biden and the CHIPS and Science Act for a significant chip manufacturing deal announced by TSMC. She noted that "Trump can thank Joe Biden and the CHIPS and Science Act for the multibillion TSMC chip manufacturing deal announced today."

Later in the day, she criticized proposed Medicaid cuts by Trump and Congressional Republicans. She remarked that "Of course not, especially when Trump and Congressional Republicans are trying to pass the largest Medicaid cuts in history." Emphasizing the negative impact these cuts would have on her constituents and Americans nationwide.
