Wesley Hunt, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas's 38th District since 2023, has been vocal on social media about his views on government efficiency and political accountability. Born in Houston, Texas, in 1981, Hunt continues to reside there while serving in Congress.

On February 15, 2025, Hunt questioned why the current Democratic leadership cannot acknowledge the inefficacy of outdated government practices like the Clinton administration did. He emphasized the need to cut red tape, stop bureaucratic overreach, and eliminate government waste as mandates given to President Trump by the American people. "If the Clinton administration can admit that using outdated government is useless then why can’t current Dems do the same? WE MUST: Cut Red Tape Stop Bureaucratic Overreach Stop Government Waste This is the mandate the American people gave President Trump! "

Later that day, Hunt criticized Democrats for their reaction to Elon Musk's actions. He expressed confusion over what he perceives as contradictory logic from Democrats who are upset with Musk for revealing a scam but seem accepting of being deceived themselves. "So you’re furious at @ElonMusk for exposing the scam, but totally cool with being scammed? Genius. That’s some next-level logic from Dems."

In another tweet on February 15, Hunt drew a comparison between Bill Clinton and Donald Trump's approaches to reducing federal government size. He pointed out what he sees as a double standard in public reactions to similar actions taken by different administrations. "Let me get this straight when Bill Clinton cuts the size of the federal government its applauded. But…. When President Trump does it, it is a constitutional crisis?"
