Cost of college went up for all students at Texas Woman's University

In-state tuition and fees rose 4.1 percent for 2018-19 at Texas Woman's University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas residents paid $7,796 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $310 more than the $7,486 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 127.8 percent more than residents this year, or $17,756. Their price tag grew 1.8 percent from $17,446 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Texas residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,033 students received grants or scholarships totaling $9.1 million and 744 students took out student loans totaling more than $4.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (15,518), 6,787 students used grants or scholarships totaling $45.9 million, and 5,088 students took out $5.4 million in federal student loans.
