Cost of college went up for all students at Houston Baptist University

Tuition and fees rose 2.5 percent for 2018-19 at Houston Baptist University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas students paid $32,530 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $800 more than the $31,730 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 510 students received grants or scholarships totaling $10.4 million and 309 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,432), 2,106 students used grants or scholarships totaling $42.3 million, and 1,261 students took out $8.5 million in federal student loans.
