70 percent of applicants to Houston Baptist University were admitted for fall 2018

At Houston Baptist University, 88 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 64 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Houston enrolled 3,432 students in fall 2018, including 2,321 in undergraduate and 1,111 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

95 percent of undergraduates are residents of Texas, and 4 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (36 percent) and white (24 percent).

The school admitted 70 percent of the 7,051 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 11 percent enrolled.
