Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office, representing Texas’s 38th District since 2023, shared a series of updates on Twitter regarding recent actions and policies under the Trump administration. The tweets provide insights into drug enforcement efforts, immigration status checks by law enforcement, and international trade agreements.
On May 7, Rep. Hunt highlighted a significant drug bust by Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ), stating that “Trump’s DOJ is putting Cartels out of business one drug bust at a time.” He noted that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) had seized “an astonishing 11.5 Kilos of Fentanyl in the form of 3M pills.”
The following day, on May 8, he commented on changes in law enforcement practices regarding immigration status inquiries under President Trump. In his tweet, he stated that “Now that law enforcement officers can ask about immigration status under President Trump—Florida state troopers were able to obtain an illegal alien who was previously charged with attacking a police officer.” He emphasized that this enables the police to “FINALLY” remove criminals from the streets.
Later on May 8, Rep. Hunt announced an impending major trade deal between the United States and the United Kingdom. His post read: “BREAKING: Trump will strike a major trade deal with the UK today— and the world is watching.” He further remarked on China’s reliance on American consumers and asserted that America holds strategic advantages under Trump’s leadership.
Wesley Hunt was born in Houston, Texas in 1981 and continues to reside there at age 41.
