Texas Southern University announced on Apr. 11 that its baseball games against Alcorn State scheduled for Saturday will be relocated to Cy-Fair High School Baseball Stadium because of expected bad weather. The doubleheader is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.

The university said Friday’s game was postponed after rain impacted the area, prompting both teams to reschedule and play two games on Saturday instead. The new venue, Cy-Fair High School, has an artificial turf field and is located at 15415 Cypress North Houston Road in Cypress, Texas.

Moving the games helps ensure they can be played as planned despite the forecasted inclement weather. The use of a turf field may help reduce further delays or cancellations due to wet conditions.

The schedule change highlights how local sports teams must remain flexible during spring months when unpredictable weather can disrupt athletic events.
