U.S. Senator John Cornyn has expressed approval of President Trump’s decision to greenlight the Green Corridors’ permit application for constructing and operating a new international bridge facility. The Green Corridors International Bridge will serve as an intelligent transportation systems (ITS) commercial crossing between Laredo, Texas, and Colombia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. This development aims to enhance freight capacity at the Port of Laredo.
Senator Cornyn stated, “I am glad President Trump has approved the construction of the Green Corridors International Bridge facility, which will enhance efficiency and security at the Port of Laredo, our nation’s top port of entry for international trade.” He further noted his anticipation for the improvements that this project would bring and expressed gratitude towards the Trump administration for prioritizing this application.
In April, Senator Cornyn had sent a letter to President Trump voicing his strong support for Green Corridors’ presidential permit application related to this project. Additionally, he continues to advocate for expanding the Colombia Solidarity International Bridge in Laredo.
