Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican and Texas State Representative for the 130th House district since 2017, posted a series of tweets in mid-April 2026 expressing opinions on food labeling, party values, and government mandates.

On April 14, Oliverson commented on food product labeling with the statement: “No more Cheerios for me, ever! Too bad they aren’t required to put that on the label.”

Two days later, on April 16, he responded to another user’s post regarding economic practices within his political party. Oliverson wrote: “Exactly Mitch. Crony capitalism is not my Republican Party. And it sure isn’t MAGA either.”

Shortly after, also on April 16, Oliverson criticized policy mandates by stating: “If it was really as good as they claim it is we wouldn’t need a mandate. The fact that there has to be a mandate says it all.”

Oliverson began serving in the Texas State House in 2017 after replacing Allen Fletcher as representative of District 130.
