Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 130th district since 2017, recently posted several messages on his Twitter account addressing state politics, mental health, and his views on the sanctity of life.
On January 22, 2026, Oliverson endorsed a fellow politician in the Texas House by stating, “He’s going to be a mighty fine member of the Texas House! @ArminMizaniTX https://t.co/soPbGQDWKA”.
Later that same day, he commented on his experiences working in mental health care: “Very, very true. I saw it every day in the psychiatric ER at Ben Taub. https://t.co/PdZ2SJcof1”.
In another post made on January 22, Oliverson marked National Sanctity of Human Life Day with a statement about his ongoing commitment to anti-abortion advocacy: “On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, we recognize an unchanging truth: every life is sacred, made in the image of God. Today and every day, I reaffirm my commitment to protecting the unborn and fighting for our most vulnerable. #prolife https://t.co/T3gOW90bVl”.
Oliverson has served as state representative since replacing Allen Fletcher in 2017. His public statements reflect his continued involvement in state policy discussions and issues such as healthcare and abortion rights.
