Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 130th district since 2017, used his social media platform on April 6, 2026, to express strong opinions on health policy and judicial accountability.
In a post made at 13:42 UTC, Oliverson criticized Certificate of Need (CON) regulations in healthcare, stating “CON is the devil. Literally.”
An hour later, at 14:40 UTC, he addressed judicial responsibility in the context of court decisions. He wrote “Judges must be accountable for these terrible decisions. The only way is for them to be liable, just like doctors, for their actions. @TexasGOP will have an opportunity to declare this as a legislative priority at our convention in June. Let’s make it happen, for the victims,” suggesting that holding judges personally liable could become a legislative priority for the Texas GOP.
Shortly after, at 14:42 UTC, Oliverson commented on healthcare workers’ rights and vaccination policies: “I am done with this. Healthcare workers have rights as well. Shots are not the same as PPE.”
Oliverson has represented Texas’s 130th House district since his election in 2017 and succeeded Allen Fletcher in that role.
