Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican who has represented Texas’s 130th House district since 2017, posted several statements on his Twitter account addressing topics ranging from leadership and equality to healthcare fraud.
On January 19, 2026, Oliverson reflected on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., stating: “Through his life and legacy, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. showed us that leadership means standing up for what is right. Inspired by his courage, may we each find ways to speak up, act with empathy, and move our communities forward. #MLKDay https://t.co/5Q7mXZq0LR”.
Later that day, he commented on perceived contradictions within a political party’s stance on equality and legal accountability: “It is crazy to think that the political party that believes it is all about equality and equal rights is also all about this…what a bunch of delusional sickos. They are about to have a close encounter with federal prosecutors and federal prisons. https://t.co/ATxMcCvoQn”.
On January 22, 2026, Oliverson addressed concerns over healthcare program abuses in another tweet: “340B abuses make Somali Medicaid fraud look like shoplifting from the dollar store. It’s time for full transparency at the state level and a moratorium on all 340B mandates! https://t.co/hM5eClbE29”.
Oliverson began serving in the Texas State House after being elected in 2017 to represent District 130, succeeding Allen Fletcher.
