Tom Oliverson, M.D., a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 130th district since 2017, has recently shared several posts on his social media account addressing topics ranging from religious observances to policy issues.
On April 3, 2026, Oliverson commented on the naming of a holiday in Houston, stating: “This is embarrassing @HoustonTX. Be better. Today is Good Friday, not Spring Holiday.”
The following day, April 4, he marked Good Friday with a message reflecting on its significance: “On this Good Friday, we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the depth of His love for us all. Wishing you a solemn and blessed Good Friday.”
Later that same day, Oliverson addressed concerns about tax exemption policies and referenced an upcoming event: “Tax exempt status is at least as abused as 340B, maybe more. Fortunately, state legislators CAN fix the tax exempt status abuses without Congress. Join us at @NCOILorg later this month in Louisville to find out what.”
Oliverson was elected to his seat in the Texas State House in 2017 after replacing Allen Fletcher.
