Texas Southern University’s women’s golf team will compete in the National Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship hosted by the Women’s In Golf Foundation on March 30 and 31.

The event, which takes place at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, features a two-day, 54-hole format. Opening rounds are scheduled to begin Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.

In their previous outing at the West Texas Classic, the Tigers finished in fourteenth place with a three-round total score of 940. Junior Thaiz Amezcua led Texas Southern with an overall score of 230, including two birdies and eight pars in her final round. Freshman Zufan Girard followed closely behind with a total of 234, while senior Azul Amezcua carded a score of 236.

The upcoming tournament offers Texas Southern an opportunity to build on their recent performance as they face collegiate teams from across the region. The competition is expected to test both experienced players and newcomers on the roster.
