Texas Southern University defeated Alabama A&M 5–2 on April 4, completing a three-game sweep in their Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball series at Bulldog Field.

The victory keeps Texas Southern at the top of the SWAC standings and marks a strong showing for the team as they erased an early deficit and took control in the later innings.

Alabama A&M scored both of its runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, capitalizing on a throwing error and a sacrifice fly to take a brief 2–0 lead. Texas Southern responded quickly in the sixth inning by drawing three walks before Miguel Morales hit a bases-loaded triple to left field, bringing home three runs and giving his team a lead they would not give up.

Additional insurance came from Christopher Chavez, who drove in Zachari Pace with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. Elijah Rodriguez added an RBI single in the eighth to push Texas Southern’s advantage to 5–2. On the mound, Justin Mays secured the win by allowing two runs on four hits and striking out eight batters over five-and-two-thirds innings. The bullpen—featuring Kevin Braziel, Seve Medrano, and Demarques Thompson—combined for more than three scoreless innings. Thompson closed out the game for his second save of the season.

Morales led Texas Southern offensively with three RBIs and a triple; Rodriguez went two-for-four with an RBI; while Pace reached base twice and scored once. The sweep strengthens Texas Southern’s position as conference leaders.
