Representative Sylvia Garcia, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, recently posted statements on her Twitter account regarding two key legislative and oversight issues. On November 18, 2025, Garcia commented on Senate action related to the release of Jeffrey Epstein files. The following day, she addressed concerns about the treatment of pregnant women in ICE custody.

On November 18, 2025, Garcia wrote: “I stood with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein as the news broke: the Senate agreed to pass the bill to release the Epstein files by unanimous consent. Their strength made this possible. We’ll keep fighting until every truth is exposed and every survivor gets justice.” In this post, she acknowledged survivors and highlighted bipartisan support for increased transparency in the high-profile case involving Jeffrey Epstein.

The next day, on November 19, 2025, Garcia posted about conditions faced by pregnant women detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She stated: “No pregnant woman should be shackled, put in solitary confinement, or denied medical care in ICE custody. Ever.
I co-led more than 60 House Democrats in demanding the immediate release of pregnant and nursing women and a full investigation. ICE must follow its own rules.”
This tweet underscored calls from congressional Democrats for policy changes and investigations into ICE detention practices.

In another tweet posted shortly after on November 19, Garcia tagged several congressional caucuses: @DemWomenCaucus @HouseDemocrats @HouseDPCC @HispanicCaucus, indicating broad coalition support within Congress for these efforts.

Garcia has maintained a strong electoral record over recent election cycles. In 2024, she defeated Alan Garza with over 65% of the vote; previous victories include wins against Robert Schafranek in 2022 (over 71%), Jaimy Blanco in 2020 (over 71%), and Phillip Aronoff in 2018 (over 75%). These results reflect sustained support within her district across multiple election years.
