U.S. Representative Sylvia Garcia, who serves Texas’s 29th congressional district, shared updates on community events and state politics through a series of posts on August 2, 2025.
In her first post at 16:23 UTC, Garcia highlighted her participation in a local event: “Today I stopped by the Harris County Clerk’s @harriscotxclerk 5th Annual Back-to-School Birth Certificate Event!
With the #firstdayofschool right around the corner, families were able to get free birth certificates to help register their kids and pick up supplies and resources https://t.co/zlhGjCDZBn“.
Later that day at 19:44 UTC, Garcia commented on recent legislative developments in Texas: “Texas House Republicans just approved a map that breaks apart and silences minority communities across our state, all to please the Felon in the White House.
This is nothing more than an undemocratic power grab. I’m going to keep fighting back and speaking out—for TX-29 and for https://t.co/hwaLQfll7C“.
At 19:45 UTC, she posted a message tagging several Democratic colleagues and using the hashtag #txlege: @HouseDemocrats @HouseDPCC @GeneforTexas @Jon_RosenthalTX @Senfronia4Texas
@ChrisGTurner @CarolforTexas @MollyforTexas @RepVeasey
@RepAlGreen @RepFletcher @RepCasar @JoaquinCastrotx @RepLloydDoggett #txlege.

Previous victories include defeating Robert Schafranek in 2022 with 71.4%, Jaimy Blanco in 2020 with 71.1%, and Phillip Aronoff in 2018 with 75.1%.
