Rep. Sylvia Garcia, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 29th district, shared several messages on social media addressing various topics important to her constituents and broader community interests.
On June 14, 2025, Rep. Garcia expressed solidarity with several organizations by mentioning them in a tweet: “@HispanicCaucus @HouseDemocrats @CHIRLA @ImmDef @NILC @FWDus @WeAreUnidosUS”.
The following day, June 15, 2025, she extended her wishes to fathers in her district by tweeting: “Wishing all the fathers, grandfathers and father figures in TX-29 a happy Father’s Day! Thank you for all that you do.” She included tags for the House Democrats and House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.
Later on June 15, 2025, Rep. Garcia voiced her support for Dreamers and immigrants during the anniversary of DACA. She tweeted: “Yo apoyo a los Soñadores y a todos los inmigrantes tanto durante este aniversario de #DACA como todos los dÃas. Los Soñadores hacen crecer nuestra economÃa y contribuyen a nuestras comunidades. El Congreso debe aprobar la ley bipartidista del Sueño y la Promesa Americana.”
Sylvia Garcia has been serving in Congress since 2019 after replacing Gene Green. Prior to this role, she served in the Texas Senate from 2013 to 2018. Born in San Diego, Texas in 1950, she now resides in Houston and holds degrees from Texas Woman’s University and Texas Southern University.
