U.S. Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia, representing Texas’ 29th district, highlighted recent community engagement and policy concerns in a series of posts on March 26 and 27, 2026.
On March 26, Garcia shared her participation in a redevelopment project visit: “Today Team Garcia visited the Meadowbrook Plaza Redevelopment. This development was supported by funding secured in the American Rescue Plan Act! @RepWalle”. Later that day, she addressed gender pay inequality: “For the second year in a row, the gender pay gap has gotten worse. This is unaccepatable—and Trump and Republicans’ anti-women policies are only making women’s economic prospects worse. This #EqualPayDay, I’m fighting for equal pay and an economy that works for women.”
On March 27, Garcia posted about attending a local event recognizing women’s contributions: “Team Garcia joined the Houston Area Urban League @HouUrbanLeague for a #WomensHistoryMonth reception to recognize impactful women and uplift the organization’s mission. Great to see past and present leadership continuing to move the work forward.”
Sylvia Garcia has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 29th District since replacing Gene Green in 2019 and previously served in the Texas Senate from 2013 to 2018. She has won multiple re-election campaigns, most recently defeating Alan Garza in 2024 with over 65% of the vote.
