On June 2, 2025, Rep. Garcia shared her involvement with Aldine Independent School District in launching their Summer Meals Program. She emphasized the importance of such initiatives by stating “I joined @AldineISD to kick off their Summer Meals Program—because no child should go hungry when school is out.” Garcia underscored the reliance of families across Texas on these programs and SNAP, advocating for their protection.
The following day, June 3, 2025, she addressed potential threats to SNAP due to proposed Republican cuts. In her tweet, she expressed concern that these cuts could severely impact food banks like Houston Food Bank and other essential community services. She affirmed her commitment by saying “I’m committed to fighting for SNAP, Medicaid, and the critical programs our communities count on.”
