Rep. Sylvia Garcia, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 29th district, recently shared her views on various pressing issues through social media posts. Serving since 2019, Garcia has been vocal about equality, justice, and environmental concerns.
On June 1, 2025, Rep. Sylvia Garcia expressed support for Pride Month in Texas-29 by celebrating the freedom to live authentically and advocating for equality. Later that day, Garcia highlighted concerns regarding extreme heat as America’s deadliest weather threat. Criticizing Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s decision to ban cities from implementing protective measures against extreme heat, she stated: “Extreme heat is America’s deadliest weather threat—dangerous for workers, our grid, and costing us over $200 billion a year.” Her office is leading efforts in Congress while urging action from the Trump administration.
