She stated: “What’s happening to families around the country under the Trump administration isn’t just cruel, it’s a test of who we are as a country. I came to Mexico to stand with immigrant families facing the consequences of a broken system and to make clear that due process isn’t optional.”
Later that day, she highlighted her involvement in educational initiatives by joining Team Garcia at Burbank Middle School alongside Houston Independent School District (HISD) for Teacher Appreciation Week.
