Serving in Congress since 2019, Fletcher has been vocal about matters impacting her constituents and beyond.

On February 6, 2025, Rep. Fletcher addressed the issue of Elon Musk's access to the U.S. Treasury's payment system and personal data, calling it "outrageous" and "dangerous." She stated, "People in #TX07 are concerned that Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire, has gotten access to the U.S. Treasury's payment system, our personal data, and more." Fletcher emphasized her support for efforts to prevent this unprecedented access.

Later that day, she tweeted about the impact of President Trump's actions on NIH funding. She remarked that halting NIH work would delay crucial scientific research. Fletcher expressed her solidarity with colleagues in restoring this work by stating, "Houston institutions in #TX07 and beyond receive millions of dollars in NIH funding every year to do critical scientific research."

On February 7, 2025, Rep. Fletcher voiced concerns regarding congressional authority being undermined by President Trump and Republican lawmakers allowing Elon Musk to influence decisions meant for Congress. She asserted that such actions were both unconstitutional and unconscionable: "This Congress must assert its authority and do its work."
