Fletcher criticized billionaire Elon Musk's influence on the energy sector, stating that "This week's Energy subcommittee hearing showed us another way unelected billionaire Elon Musk is creating chaos where we don't need it: reducing the federal workforce of experts we need in our energy sector to issue permits and keep us safe."

She tweeted, "President Trump's dangerous decision to shut down USAID without consulting Congress will deny humanitarian assistance to countries in need and compromise our country's global credibility and national security.
