Rep. Lizzie Fletcher, a U.S. Congress member representing Texas’ 7th district since 2019, shared her recent activities and concerns on social media. Fletcher has been vocal about issues impacting her community, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and the rights of marginalized groups.

On February 1, 2025, Rep. Fletcher expressed her appreciation for attending the State of Black Business meeting organized by the Houston Black Chamber. She remarked on the Trump Administration's actions against programs fostering diversity and inclusion. "Glad to attend the @HouBlackChamber's State of Black Business meeting this week. The Trump Administration has attacked programs to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion, so I was grateful to listen to the timely and important panel discussion on the path forward."

On February 2, 2025, Fletcher addressed her concerns regarding the Trump Administration's stance towards LGBTQI+ communities in Texas and nationwide. She emphasized her commitment to standing with these communities amidst what she perceives as an attack on their rights. "The Trump Administration is targeting our LGBTQI+ friends, family, & neighbors in #TX07 and across the country. I am proud to represent this community. I will stand with the community and stand up for the rights of all Americans now under attack."

Later that day, Rep. Fletcher shared a personal moment from her time back home in Houston. She visited a local establishment called Irma's Original and expressed fondness for its offerings while lamenting its absence in Washington D.C."I have loved being back home in Houston seeing people across our community. So glad I was able to make a stop this week at @irmasoriginal, where I saw the legend herself. If only we could have Irma's in Washington!"
