Rep. Lizzie Fletcher, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 7th district since 2019, recently took to social media to engage with her constituents on two pressing matters. On January 28, 2025, she invited community members to participate in a Valentine’s Day initiative aimed at showing appreciation for veterans. The following day, she addressed concerns regarding actions by the Trump administration that she believes are detrimental to government operations and funding.
On January 28, Rep. Fletcher encouraged participation in a community effort titled "Valentines for Vets." She urged families and classrooms to sign up and create valentines for veterans, which she promised to deliver on Valentine's Day. In her post, she stated: "It's that time again! Help us send love to our community's veterans."
The next day, January 29, Rep. Fletcher expressed concern over the Trump administration's recent governmental actions. She tweeted about spending the day discussing these issues with people across Texas' 7th district: "I’ve spent the day talking with people across #TX07 about the Trump administration’s actions..."
In a subsequent tweet on the same day, Rep. Fletcher noted relief that a court had intervened against one of these efforts but criticized what she described as "irresponsible and chaotic actions" by the administration: "While I am glad a court has now put that effort on hold..."
