There were 18 Pacific Islander students enrolled in Kipp Texas Public Schools District in the 2022-23 school year, 10% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Kipp Texas Public Schools District welcomed 33,068 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Kipp Texas Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Travis County and has a main office in Houston.

Among the 58 schools in Kipp Texas Public Schools District, KIPP Pleasant Grove Primary School recorded the highest enrollment of Pacific Islander students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of four students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
