How many African American students were enrolled in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 24,068 African American students enrolled in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Cypress-Fairbanks ISD schools welcomed 118,010 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 20.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD roughly covers schools within Harris County and has a main office in Houston.

Among the 89 schools in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD schools, Cypress Creek High School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 976 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
