How many African American students were enrolled in Elevate Collegiate Charter School District in 2022-23 school year?

There were 92 African American students enrolled in Elevate Collegiate Charter School District in the 2022-23 school year, 109.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Elevate Collegiate Charter School District welcomed 117 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 78.6% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Elevate Collegiate Charter School District roughly covers schools within Harris County and has a main office in Houston.

Elevate Collegiate was the only school in the district which enrolled African American students, welcoming 92 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
