Etoile Academy Charter School District Education: 47 African American students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 47 African American students enrolled in Etoile Academy Charter School District in the 2022-23 school year, 17.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Etoile Academy Charter School District welcomed 512 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 9.2% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Etoile Academy Charter School District roughly covers schools within Harris County and has a main office in Houston.

Etoile Academy Charter School was the only school in the district which enrolled African American students, welcoming 47 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
