Harmony School of Science - Houston District Education: 991 Hispanic students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 991 Hispanic students enrolled in Harmony School of Science - Houston District in the 2022-23 school year, 21.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Harmony School of Science - Houston District welcomed 5,405 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 18.3% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Harmony School of Science - Houston District roughly covers schools within Harris County and has a main office in Sugar Land.

Among the six schools in Harmony School of Science - Houston District, Harmony School of Excellence - Sugar Land recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 241 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
