Ser-Ninos Charter School District Education: 11 African American students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 11 African American students enrolled in Ser-Ninos Charter School District in the 2022-23 school year, 8.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ser-Ninos Charter School District welcomed 1,113 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Ser-Ninos Charter School District roughly covers schools within Harris County and has a main office in Houston.

Among the four schools in Ser-Ninos Charter School District, Ser-Ninos Charter Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 10 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
