There were 1,085 students enrolled in The Varnett Public School in the 2022-23 school year, 4.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.3% of them were girls, and 47.7% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 67.1% of the The Varnett Public School total enrollment.

Among the three schools in The Varnett Public School, Varnett Charter School recorded the highest enrollment of 514 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
