There were 144 American Indian students enrolled in Aldine ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 8.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Aldine ISD schools welcomed 61,633 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Aldine ISD roughly covers schools within Harris County and has a main office in Houston.

Among the 78 schools in Aldine ISD schools, Davis High School Aldine recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 11 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
