The University of Houston’s C. T. Bauer College of Business is offering seven degree programs fully online, including its Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees.
The college is also offering Master of Science degrees in business analytics, finance, management and leadership, management information systems and supply chain management, according to a news release.
“Given the recent developments due to COVID-19, and the broader challenges for higher education, it has become imperative to enhance our ability to leverage technology to offer courses remotely,” Dean Paul Pavlou said.
The new program offerings are part of the college’s commitment to finding new ways to offer affordable, accessible education options.
“Investments in state-of-the art interactive and immersive classroom technology, in addition to virtual experiential learning and extra-curricular opportunities expand options for students,” Pavlou said. “We have a steadfast commitment at the Bauer College to continue to enhance our digital learning infrastructure to provide a superb value proposition for worthy students in Houston and in Texas, the United States, and across the globe.”
The online programs will be offered at in-state tuition rates, even for students telecommuting from outside the country. Online students will also not have additional fees associated with the traditional programs.
The MBA program in particular is targeted toward working professionals who need to find a way to fit a career-enhancing degree into their lives.
“Even before the pandemic, online MBA programs were growing,” Leiser Silva, associate dean of Graduate and Professional Programs, said. “Online MBA programs are significantly more affordable than their face-to-face counterparts and busy professionals who are seeking their dream job appreciate the flexibility and more attractive value proposition.”
