The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has given its HUD EnVision Center designation to the HUD Gulf Coast Center in Houston.
EnVision Centers have teamed up with Adaptive Construction Solutions (ACS) to assist the local community in providing affordable housing for residents looking for assistance. Additionally, ACS has become the largest provider of veteran apprenticeships in Texas.
“EnVision Centers were created with a simple goal in mind: to empower people to reach their greatest potential," HUD Secretary Ben Carson said in a press release. "These centers take a holistic approach to community revitalization, going beyond brick and mortar investments and investing in what matters most – people."
Carson said ACS’s employee-centric workforce development program has demonstrated success in assisting Houston’s vulnerable youth and veterans.
"I am confident that this new designation and partnership will allow them to help many more achieve their career goals,” he added.
