Many Houston area restaurants, retailers and fitness centers closing due to the pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic has affected so many aspects of everyday life, but for many of Houston’s business owners, it has meant difficult choices.

Many business owners say that dealing with COVID-19 pandemic fallout, along with restrictions such as social distancing standards, they have made the choice to not reopen

In addition to large national retailers filing for bankruptcy like Pier 1, J. Crew, and others, several local restaurants, bakeries, and fitness centers have also been force to close in response to the coronavirus crisis.

The following Houston stores have announced that they will close as a result of the pandemic, as reported by ABC 13 Eyewitness News:

A dozen 24 Hour Fitness chain locations; Acadian Bakers; Agricole; Alice's Tall Texan Drive Inn; Barry's Pizza; Bernie's Burger Bus; Blackbird Izakaya; Broken Barrel; Dolce Vita; Helen; Lucky's Pub; Night Heron; Five locations of the Pappas Restaurants chain; Penny Quarter; Ragin' Cajun - Westchase location; and Wild West.
