Cost of college went up for all students at the School of Automotive Machinists & Technology

Tuition and fees rose 1.5 percent for 2018-19 at the School of Automotive Machinists & Technology, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas students paid $33,750 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $500 more than the $33,250 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 84 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 34 students received grants or scholarships totaling $156,748 and 30 students took out student loans totaling more than $185,836.

Including all undergraduates (182), 122 students used grants or scholarships totaling $591,560, and 90 students took out $593,884 in federal student loans.
