Graduates earn 1,659 degrees, certificates from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston

About 85.4 percent of the 1,659 degrees and certificates handed out by The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Houston conferred 553 master's degrees and 459 bachelor's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 425 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 221 doctor's degrees in medicine and 212 master's degrees in family practice nurse/nursing.

The university enrolled 5,335 students for 2017-18, including 717 in undergraduate programs and 4,618 in graduate programs.
