A 65-year-old human trafficking victim who doesn't speak or understand English and has no family or friends in the United States was rescued from a Houston massage parlor last week, KHOU-11 reported.

The news outlet reported that Jingxia Sun, 39, was arrested last week as part of an undercover sting operation by the Human Trafficking Division of Harris County Precinct One after receiving a tip about prostitution at the business.

Sun, the owner of G Massage, faces a third-degree felony promotion of prostitution charge.

Investigators said the victim was recruited online from Los Angeles and rescued from a business near Highway 290, where she lived because she had nowhere else to go, the news media reported.

Precinct One has been working with the YMCA and Rescue America to help women with safety resources and places to stay, KHOU-11 reported.

Click2Houston reported that the victim speaks only Mandarin and had nowhere to stay and no friends or family in the country.

Constable Alan Rosen of Harris County Constable Precinct 1 posted on Facebook that Sun was believed to be responsible for promoting prostitution at the massage parlor.

"Jingxia Sun, 39, was arrested on July 23, 2020 at 'G Massage', located in the 5100 block of Antoine Drive in Harris County," the post states. "This was an undercover operation initiated after a citizen tip and complaint about prostitution at this location."

Investigators also worked with Harris County Precinct One Human Trafficking Victim’s Liaison Kathy Griffin, as well as Rescue USA and the YMCA to translate for the victim.

"During the course of this investigation, deputies rescued a 65 year old woman who was living at the business and had been recruited online from Los Angeles to engage in prostitution," the Facebook post stated.
