A nonprofit coffee shop in the Houston Heights area has been raising awareness toward a very serious problem, according to ABC 13.
A 2nd Cup helps combat human trafficking in the Houston area. According to ABC, a portion of their profits go toward aftercare for trafficking survivors.
"A 2nd Cup was established in 2012 to raise awareness of human trafficking issues in Houston—and to develop resources that help create a second chance for survivors. We are committed to following all local county and state guidelines," the coffee shop writes.
According to ABC, A 2nd Cup is usually packed full of customers who feel like visiting the coffee shop for a quick cup of java. However, due to the COVID-19 crisis, A 2nd Cup is helping survivors in the Houston area in a very special way.
The coffee shop has temporarily converted into a pandemic pantry, offering items from toilet paper to cleaning supplies.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, customers can have supplies delivered to their home or they can come to pick up what they need right at the curb. To make a donation, visit the shop's donation page.
