Senator John Cornyn, a prominent political figure, recently expressed his views on border security and fiscal responsibility through a series of tweets. The Texas senator has been vocal about the financial burdens placed on his state due to federal policies, particularly under the Biden administration.
On June 5, 2025, Senator Cornyn stated that “Congress must reimburse Texas for Biden’s border security malpractice.” He emphasized the need for federal compensation to address what he describes as inadequate border management by the current administration.
In another tweet posted later that day, Cornyn highlighted the financial impact on Texas, noting that “Texas spent billions of dollars to try and secure the border during Biden’s border crisis. Now the bill is due: it’s time for the federal gov’t to pay Texas taxpayers back.” He mentioned his efforts to ensure reimbursement through what he refers to as “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
Later in the day, Cornyn shared insights from a meeting with key government figures regarding legislative priorities. He tweeted about a “Great meeting yesterday with @POTUS, @VP, and my @SenFinance colleagues on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” He reiterated Republican commitment to advancing an agenda focused on supporting small businesses, reducing taxes, and enhancing border security.
